The Southwest Center is proud to offer HIV/STI testing Monday-Friday at no cost to you.** Our Prevention Specialists are here to walk you through the testing process with empathy, confidentially, and no judgment.

HIV/STI Testing Hours

Clinical testing is available at the Southwest Center by walk-in and by appointment. Call us at 602.307.5330 to schedule your appointment today! Our testing hours are:

  • Monday & Friday: 8 am - 4 pm*

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday: 8 am - 6 pm*

*Walk-in availability for HIV/STI testing is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Testing times are subject to change based on demand. We recommend arriving as early as possible.

Tests We Offer

HIV:
Fingerstick (rapid) or blood draw (laboratory)
Results in 20 minutes (Rapid Alere Determine test)

Chlamydia:
Urine sample, oral and/or rectal swab
Results in 3-5 days

Gonorrhea:
Urine sample, oral and/or rectal swab
Results in 3-5 days

Hepatitis C:
Fingerstick (rapid)
Results in 20 minutes

Syphilis:
Blood draw
Results in 3-5 days

What to Expect for HIV Testing

We try to make the testing process as easy and accommodating as possible. One of our Prevention Specialists will test you for HIV and/or STIs. We recommend getting tested for HIV and STIs at least once a year. Those who have multiple partners or anonymous partners should be tested more frequently. Our testing is at no cost to the patient.

HIV testing is done through a fingerstick blood drawl. Your Rapid HIV test will have results in about 20 minutes.

If you test negative, we recommend talking to your Prevention Specialists about if PrEP is right for you.

If you have a reactive test, we will support you while navigating the next steps toward medical treatment and viral suppression (becoming “undetectable”). To learn more about HIV, please visit hiv.gov or call us at 602.307.5330.

What to Expect for STI Testing

STI testing can be done through a(n):

  • anal swab

  • urine sample

  • blood sample

  • swab of the inside of the mouth

STI testing results usually take 3-5 business days.

**Please note that testing appointments do not include treatment services. Those who have positive results must schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider.

Telehealth and same-day appointments may be available. Additionally, please be aware that treatment may come with certain costs depending on your insurance coverage.
